Klone Announce ‘The Moon Is Witness’ and Release New Single ‘Unchained’
Klone have announced The Moon Is Witness, arriving March 12, 2027, through V2 Records. The French progressive metal band are introducing the album with “Unchained,” its first single, giving listeners an early look at the next phase of their sound.
The nine-track record combines the band’s guitar-heavy foundations with the expansive arrangements that have become central to its music. Vocalist Yann Ligner uses the Moon as an observer of human behavior, with songs examining themes including love, fear, death and hope.
The album reunites Klone with producer Francis Caste, who worked on 2019’s Le Grand Voyage. Recording, mixing and mastering took place at Studio Sainte-Marthe in Paris.
Guest appearances broaden the instrumental palette. Arnaud Roy contributes harp, Raphael Weinroth-Browne plays cello on “Mirage,” and Coroner guitarist Tommy Vetterli appears on “Molt.”
For fans following Klone’s move between heavy riffs and atmospheric progressive rock, “Unchained” is the starting point for a new album cycle. The release also marks the band’s first album for V2, following The Unseen on Pelagic Records.
