Oceans Ate Alaska will release Purge on January 22, 2027, opening a new chapter for the Birmingham metalcore band. Announced October 23, the record is their first full-length with vocalist Joel Heywood and their first completely independent album.

The announcement arrives alongside “Bring You Back” and an official video directed by Shaun Hodson. The song follows the previously released “Endless Hollow” and “Onsra,” giving listeners another preview of the forthcoming record.

Heywood says the single draws on his wife’s experience with prenatal and postnatal depression and his feelings of helplessness as she struggled. The video presents that emotional distance through a heightened visual story.

Purge expands those personal themes into an album concerned with mental health, relationships and difficult experiences. For listeners following the band’s transition to Heywood, it will be the first opportunity to hear this lineup across a complete album.

Vinyl and CD preorders are available through the band’s official website. Watch the new video and follow the official announcement below.
