Cro-Mags have released “It’s the Limit (2026),” a newly recorded version of the New York hardcore staple featuring guest guitarist Meg Mills.

The track previews The Age of Quarrel: 40 Years of Quarrel, arriving November 13 through BLKIIBLK. The project revisits the band’s landmark 1986 debut four decades after it helped define the point where hardcore punk and heavy metal collided.

Mills described contributing to the recording as a major honor, crediting The Age of Quarrel as a foundational influence on her decision to start a band. The song was released alongside an official lyric video.

Founding bassist and vocalist Harley Flanagan is joined across the anniversary project by original Age of Quarrel guitarist Doug Holland, former Cro-Mags and Suicidal Tendencies guitarist Rocky George, Zach Blair, Arthur Rizk, current members Dominic Dibenedetto and Dave Sharpe, and drummer Greyson Nekrutman.

Produced and mixed by Rizk, the 16-track collection includes fresh versions of “Hard Times,” “World Peace,” “Malfunction” and the rest of the original album, plus the 1985 demo-era song “Everybody’s Gonna Die.”

Flanagan said the re-recording grew from the making of the Wired for Chaos documentary after licensing issues required several songs to be recreated for the soundtrack. The completed album is also intended to address the original musicians’ long-running royalty dispute: songwriters will receive performance royalties through ASCAP and BMI, with remaining proceeds designated for charity.

The band is scheduled to perform December 4 at Decibel Metal & Beer Fest in Denver and December 12 at For the Children in Los Angeles, with additional dates expected.
