What Lies Below Sign With Solid State Records and Release “Return to Nothing”
What Lies Below have signed with Solid State Records and released “Return to Nothing,” their first single for the label, alongside an official music video. The October 23 announcement gives the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania metalcore band a new label home as it prepares for a November tour with Midwinter.
The band features Andrew Watson on vocals, Mike Watson on vocals and guitar, Sam Hart on guitar and Jonah Luteman on drums. The signing and single were announced in a press release supplied to The Sound 228 and confirmed by the band’s official social account.
“Return to Nothing” continues the emotional thread of the group’s recently released album I Let It Consume Me. In the announcement, the band describes the new song as a move away from grief and isolation toward hope, with its narrator trying to leave the weight of the past behind.
The timing puts new music in listeners’ hands before What Lies Below return to the road. The run with Midwinter opens November 5 at The Montage Music Hall in Rochester, New York, and ends November 21 at Mahall’s in Lakewood, Ohio. Montreal and Toronto are included among the stops.
No Gulf Coast dates appear on the announced itinerary. Fans can watch the official video, stream the single and check the band’s ticket listings through the links below.
