The Defect Release ‘Stay Away’ With a New Music Video
The Defect have released “Stay Away,” a new single and music video available through FiXT. The label announced the release October 23, putting another electronic-heavy rock track in front of listeners following the project’s ongoing run of new music.
The duo brings together The Browning frontman Jonny McBee and singer Moon McBee. Formed in 2023, The Defect gives that partnership a separate outlet at the intersection of rock, metal and electronic production.
FiXT describes “Stay Away” as a combination of distorted guitars, forceful beats and dark synthesizers, with Moon moving between melodic vocals and screams. The accompanying video is out now through the official release links.
For Sound 228 listeners drawn to the overlap between modern heavy music and electronics, this is a new release worth checking out. The announcement is focused on the single and video; it does not announce an album release date or a new tour.
