Mason Hill Release ‘World So Wonderful’ With New Singer Tom Ward
Mason Hill have released World So Wonderful on October 23 through 7Hz Productions, marking a new chapter for the Scottish hard-rock band with vocalist Tom Ward. The album was recorded with producer Dan Weller and arrives ahead of a November U.K. tour.
The release follows a difficult rebuilding period after the departure of former singer Scott Taylor at the end of 2023. In the announcement supplied to The Sound 228, guitarist James Bird says the group came close to stopping before finding a way forward with Ward.
Ward describes the writing partnership as a revitalizing experience and credits Weller with helping him develop his approach to songwriting. For longtime listeners, the album is the first full opportunity to hear how the new vocalist fits into Mason Hill’s guitar-driven sound.
“Tainted Wings,” released ahead of the album, offers an introduction to that lineup. Ward has explained that the song’s chorus took shape during his audition process, giving the track a direct connection to his arrival in the band.
The announced November run begins at KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton on November 12 and ends at the Craufurd Arms in Milton Keynes on November 19. It includes a November 13 appearance supporting Skindred at Glasgow’s Barrowlands, alongside dates in Manchester, Nottingham, Cardiff and London.
Fans can find album listening and ordering options through the official release link and check the band’s website for tour information.
