Escape the Fate have released their new album, The Last Goodbye, through Big Noise Music Group. The 13-song record arrived October 2 and follows 2023’s Out of the Shadows. It finds the Las Vegas veterans looking inward while reconnecting with the combination of metalcore aggression, dramatic guitars and massive melodic hooks that has powered the band for more than two decades. The full album is available now through major streaming platforms. Qobuz confirms a 13-track, 47-minute release, while Apple Music lists it as Escape the Fate’s latest album.

Escape the Fate Look Inward

Rather than building the album entirely around Escape the Fate’s turbulent history, The Last Goodbye focuses on the personal struggles, relationships and emotional battles experienced by its current members. Songs including “Comatose,” “Coffin Kingdom,” “Devil in Wait” and “Remedy of Numbness” give the album its darkest edge. Previously released singles “Déjà Vu,” “Idle Potential” and “Paranoia” established the record’s collision of classic-rock riffing, post-hardcore urgency and modern metal production.

Vocalist Craig Mabbitt described “Paranoia” as an examination of a state of mind that has become increasingly familiar to him. “Putting those feelings into song helps to suppress,” Mabbitt said.

Produced by From First to Last’s Matt Good

The Last Goodbye was produced, recorded and mixed by Matt Good of From First to Last, with Ted Jensen handling mastering. Good also shares composition credits across the album with Mabbitt, guitarist Matti Hoffman, guitarist and bassist Erik Jensen and founding drummer Robert Ortiz. That lineup gives this version of Escape the Fate a distinct identity. Mabbitt and Ortiz provide continuity with the band’s most recognizable eras, while Hoffman and Jensen bring a sharper guitar-driven attack to the current material. The album retains the accessible hooks that helped Escape the Fate cross into mainstream hard rock, but songs such as “Coffin Kingdom” and “Devil in Wait” add a heavier and more dangerous atmosphere.

More Than a Farewell

Despite its title, The Last Goodbye has not been presented as Escape the Fate’s final album.

Instead, the record serves as a break from the weight of the band’s past. Escape the Fate are acknowledging the chaos that shaped them without allowing nostalgia to dictate what comes next. That matters for a group whose catalog stretches from scene-era staples such as “Situations,” “The Guillotine” and “This War Is Ours” to Active Rock cuts including “One for the Money,” “Broken Heart” and “Not My Problem.” The Last Goodbye does not erase any of those versions of Escape the Fate. It pulls their aggression, theatrical darkness and radio-sized choruses into one record—and points the band toward its next chapter.
