St. Louis heavy-rock outfit dead7 have released “Feels Like,” adding a second new song to the run that began with “Cannibal” last month. The single arrived October 22 alongside an official visualizer, and SharpTone Records lists it among the label’s new releases.

The song addresses the difficulty of finding happiness after spending a long time in a negative headspace. In the release announcement, the band describes a struggle with self-acceptance and the realization that personal change can require confronting the ways someone holds themselves back.

That emotional focus continues a thread running through dead7’s music: pairing heavy guitar grooves with electronics, atmospheric keys and vulnerable subject matter. The new track follows their SharpTone debut album, LOVE WHAT YOU CAN WHILE YOU GOT SOMETHING LEFT TO LOVE.

For listeners catching up with the band, “Cannibal” and “Feels Like” provide two recent entry points beyond that debut. Today’s announcement centers on the new single and visualizer; it does not announce a new album release date.

“Feels Like” is available through the official streaming link below. The accompanying visualizer is also online.
