PLUSH UNLEASHES MASS HYSTERIA WITH NEW ALBUM

Plush has officially entered a new era.

The hard-rocking trio released their highly anticipated sophomore album, Mass Hysteria, on September 18 through Pavement Entertainment, delivering a heavier, more mature and deeply personal record that shows just how far this band has come.

Five years after the release of their self-titled debut album, Moriah Formica, Ashley Suppa and Faith Powell aren’t simply picking up where Plush left off.

They’re pushing forward.

WELCOME TO MASS HYSTERIA

Mass Hysteria is Plush’s second full-length studio album and represents a major step forward for a band that has spent the last several years building its reputation on the road.

Singer and guitarist Moriah Formica describes the record as one centered around confronting the darker parts of ourselves and surviving the chaos that comes with them.

“This record is about facing the darkest, most volatile parts of ourselves,” Formica said when introducing the album.

That idea runs throughout Mass Hysteria. It’s an album about struggle, survival, internal battles and the scars that can remain even after you’ve made it through the other side.

And Plush delivers those themes with some serious firepower.

“ANIMALISTIC” SHOWED US WHAT WAS COMING

The band gave fans their first major taste of the new era with “Animalistic,” which arrived in August and debuted on SiriusXM Octane.

Written by Formica alongside Blair Daly and Zac Maloy and produced by Kile O’Dell and Formica, the song explores the internal warfare that can happen when the darker, angrier side of ourselves starts fighting its way to the surface.

The band described “Animalistic” as being about embracing the rage that exists inside all of us instead of pretending it isn’t there.

That intensity became a perfect introduction to Mass Hysteria.

Heavy guitars.

Massive vocals.

Dark atmosphere.

And the unmistakable voice of Moriah Formica soaring over it all.

PLUSH HAS GROWN UP

When Plush released their debut album in 2021, they were already turning heads.

But a lot has happened since then.

The band has toured extensively throughout the United States and abroad, sharing stages with some enormous names in rock including Disturbed, KISS, Alice in Chains and Evanescence.

They’ve also put four songs onto Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart with “Hate,” “Better Off Alone,” “Left Behind” and “Run.”

All of those miles, shows and experiences can be heard in the evolution of the band.

Mass Hysteria feels less like a young band trying to prove it belongs and more like a band that knows exactly where it wants to go.

The current Plush lineup features Moriah Formica on vocals and guitar, Ashley Suppa on bass and vocals, and Faith Powell behind the drums.

Together, the trio has created a record that maintains the melodic hooks that first introduced fans to Plush while adding a noticeably more aggressive edge.

MORE THAN JUST “ANIMALISTIC”

While “Animalistic” opened the door to this new chapter, Mass Hysteria gives listeners plenty more to dig into.

The 12-song album includes tracks such as “Drain Me,” “Bleed Me Out,” “Open Your Heart,” “Be Real,” “Severance,” “Free Again” and the title track “Mass Hysteria.”

It’s a collection that balances melody with aggression and vulnerability with power.

That’s an important combination for Plush.

Because underneath the riffs and powerhouse vocals, this band has always been capable of bringing emotion into its music.

On Mass Hysteria, that emotional side gets darker, heavier and more personal.

TAKING MASS HYSTERIA ON THE ROAD

Plush isn’t letting the new album live only through headphones.

The band is currently taking the Mass Hysteria era directly to fans on the road, performing new material alongside the songs that helped establish them.

And that may be where this album really comes alive.

Plush has built much of its reputation through its live show. Formica’s massive voice, Suppa’s commanding bass presence and Powell’s aggressive drumming give these songs an entirely different dimension onstage.

The band has spent years learning from some of rock’s biggest acts.
