Ozzfest Is Coming Back in 2027 With Events Planned for the UK and United States

One of heavy metal’s most influential festivals is officially returning.

Sharon Osbourne has confirmed that Ozzfest will make its long-awaited comeback in 2027, beginning with an event at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, followed by plans to bring the festival back to the United States.

The Birmingham edition is expected to take place across two days at Villa Park—the same stadium where Ozzy Osbourne delivered his emotional final performance during the historic “Back to the Beginning” concert in July 2025. “We want to do two days at Aston Villa and then come to America,” Sharon explained during an appearance on The Osbournes Podcast. She also invited American fans to speak up about which cities they would like Ozzfest to visit. (loudersound.com⁠)

Specific dates, U.S. locations and the 2027 lineup have not yet been announced.

A Festival That Changed Heavy Music

Founded by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in 1996, Ozzfest became one of the most important touring festivals in rock and metal history. It provided a massive stage for established artists while helping introduce a new generation of bands to audiences around the world.

Over the years, Ozzfest featured legendary names including Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Slipknot, Tool, Pantera, System of a Down, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Lamb of God, Megadeth and countless others.

The festival was also famous for giving rising artists opportunities that were difficult to find elsewhere. Sharon has indicated that supporting new talent will remain an important part of the revived Ozzfest.

That focus would make the 2027 edition more than a nostalgia event. It could once again become a place where tomorrow’s major rock and metal bands are discovered.

Continuing Ozzy’s Legacy

The return will carry even greater emotional weight following Ozzy Osbourne’s death in July 2025. Ozzfest was a major part of his legacy and helped reshape the live heavy-music landscape in both America and the United Kingdom.

Bringing the festival back to Villa Park creates a direct connection to Ozzy’s hometown and the location of his final concert. Expanding it to the United States would take that celebration back to the country where Ozzfest grew into a summer institution.

While plenty of questions remain, the most important news is now official: Ozzfest will return in 2027.

The lineup, dates and American destinations are still under wraps, but for rock and metal fans who grew up with Ozzfest—or never had the opportunity to experience it—the Crazy Train is preparing to roll again.
