Sacramento rock veterans OLEANDER are entering a new chapter.

The band has officially signed with SBG Records, adding another milestone to a career that has stretched across decades and produced some of the most recognizable songs from the late-’90s and early-2000s alternative rock era.

The announcement comes just ahead of OLEANDER’s appearance at Aftershock Festival, bringing the Sacramento natives back into the spotlight in their hometown market at one of the biggest rock festivals in the country.

A New Chapter for OLEANDER

OLEANDER broke through nationally with their 1999 album February Son, which featured the massive rock radio hit “Why I’m Here.” The band followed it with songs including “I Walk Alone,” “Are You There?” and “Hands Off the Wheel,” building a catalog that helped make them a fixture of turn-of-the-century rock radio.

Now, their signing with SBG Records points toward something bigger than simply revisiting the past.

For longtime fans, the move raises the obvious question: What comes next?

With a new label behind them and a high-profile festival appearance on the horizon, OLEANDER appears positioned for another run, potentially introducing their music to an entirely new generation of rock listeners while reconnecting with the audience that has followed them for years.

Coming Home for Aftershock

The timing couldn’t be much better.

OLEANDER will head into Aftershock Festival representing Sacramento, the city where their story began. Aftershock has grown into one of America’s premier rock and metal festivals, making it a fitting stage for the band’s latest chapter.

And in a rock landscape where veteran bands are increasingly finding new audiences alongside today’s emerging artists, OLEANDER’s return comes at an interesting moment.

The Sound 228 will be watching closely for new music and additional announcements from OLEANDER and SBG Records.

Stay tuned.
