Mudvayne and HELLYEAH frontman Chad Gray has canceled two dates on his “30 Years Of Madnesss” solo tour after reporting vocal trouble and illness.

The affected shows are Monday, October 5, at House of Blues San Diego and Tuesday, October 6, at The Observatory OC in Santa Ana, California. Gray announced the cancellations Sunday, October 4, saying he has been dealing with “deep vocal issues” and became sick around his Aftershock appearance.

Gray said he needs time to rest and protect both his voice and overall health. He apologized to fans in San Diego and Santa Ana and described canceling as the responsible choice for himself, the audience and the possibility of continuing the run.

Refunds and meet-and-greet transfers

According to Gray’s announcement, tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will be refunded automatically. Fans who bought through a third-party reseller should contact their original point of purchase.

Meet-and-greet customers may request a transfer to the October 7 Las Vegas date at Fremont Country Club. Those unable to attend that show can receive reimbursement for the meet-and-greet purchase.

What is confirmed — and what is not

The San Diego and Santa Ana cancellations are confirmed. The tour is currently expected to resume Wednesday, October 7, in Las Vegas, but Gray’s statement did not guarantee that performance or announce a specific diagnosis. Additional changes had not been announced at the time of this report.

The “30 Years Of Madnesss” shows celebrate Gray’s three-decade career with material from Mudvayne and HELLYEAH. His backing band includes guitarists Marcus Rafferty and Joe Bonasorte, drummer Devin Attard and bassist Nick Villarreal. Butcher Babies and Devil’s Cut are supporting the tour.
