Evans Blue Release New Single SPEAK
Evans Blue are officially back with “SPEAK,” a dark, emotionally charged new single released Friday, October 9, through Aphotic Records. The track begins a new chapter for the modern-rock veterans and follows its October 8 radio premiere on SiriusXM Octane.
“SPEAK” hits the core of what Evans Blue has always done best: heavy melody, atmosphere and honest emotion. The song confronts grief that does not simply disappear with time—and the danger of carrying that pain in silence until it becomes another weight.
A Song About Breaking the Silence
Vocalist Dan Chandler described the heart of the track in one line: “SPEAK is about carrying loss until silence becomes its own kind of prison.” The song does not offer an easy ending. Its power comes from the decision to keep moving forward without pretending the damage never happened.
That theme fits naturally alongside the emotional weight of Evans Blue staples including “Cold (But I’m Still Here),” “Erase My Scars” and “This Time It’s Different.” “SPEAK” preserves that identity while pushing the band into a sharper, more current Active Rock sound.
Evans Blue Sign With Aphotic Records
The single also marks Evans Blue’s new partnership with Aphotic Records, the independent modern-rock label founded by producer, songwriter and mixer Chris Dawson.
“SPEAK” was written and performed by Evans Blue. Dawson and the band produced the track, Dawson handled the mix, and Mike Kaljian mastered it. The current lineup is Dan Chandler on vocals, Joe Pitter on bass, and guitarists Parker Lauzon and Vlad Tanaskovic.
For The Sound 228 audience, this is more than a routine standalone release. It is a significant return from a band with deep roots in the melodic hard-rock lane—and a strong signal that Evans Blue is building forward again with a new label and new creative team.
