Blind Channel have unleashed “Into the Void,” a new collaboration featuring Of Mice & Men vocalist and bassist Aaron Pauley.

Released October 1, the track is the fourth and final advance single from Blind Channel’s sixth studio album, Painstream, arriving October 30 through Century Media Records. Spotify credits the recording to Blind Channel, Pauley and Of Mice & Men.

“Into the Void” pushes Blind Channel’s modern-metal attack into darker territory while exploring a much bigger question: What if humanity is truly alone in the universe?

The band says the song was inspired by the Fermi paradox and the mysterious Wow! signal—the contradiction between the enormous scale of the universe and humanity’s inability to find convincing evidence of extraterrestrial life. That cosmic idea leads into the track’s more immediate warning: If Earth is the only place carrying life, humanity is doing a poor job protecting it.

Pauley supplies an additional layer of metalcore power, giving the song a natural bridge between Blind Channel’s “violent pop” sound and Of Mice & Men’s heavier modern catalog. He described the collaboration as an honor and said he was excited for listeners to finally hear it.

Painstream will be Blind Channel’s first album since the Finnish band ended an approximately 18-month hiatus. It will also be its first full-length project as a five-piece following longtime co-vocalist Joel Hokka’s departure in April 2025. Niko Vilhelm Moilanen now leads the band as its sole frontman alongside guitarist Joonas Porko, bassist Olli Matela, drummer Tommi Lalli and synth player Aleksi Kaunisvesi.

The 12-track album also includes previously released songs “Diana,” “No Encores in a Swan Song” and “Stars We See.” Blind Channel describes the record as an examination of pain from personal, societal and existential perspectives, ultimately searching for the hope and shared humanity buried inside those experiences.

The band’s official comeback concert is scheduled for November 14 at Helsinki Ice Hall, followed by November performances in Tokyo and Osaka. A European headlining tour begins in February 2027. No North American dates supporting Painstream have been announced.

With Aaron Pauley joining the collision and a newly streamlined lineup driving the band forward, “Into the Void” gives Blind Channel’s comeback era one more heavy jolt before Painstream arrives.
