Released September 22 through Judge & Jury Records, the fast-moving song clocks in at just over two and a half minutes and finds the Southern California rock veterans delivering another sharp, modern addition to their catalog. (qobuz.com, music.apple.com)
“Gaslighter” tackles the damage caused by people who twist conversations, deny their actions and reshape the truth to maintain control. It is a subject that will feel painfully familiar to anyone who has experienced a toxic relationship—romantic, personal or otherwise.
The new single continues a busy stretch for Alien Ant Farm. Following “Bad Attitude,” “Actitud” and “Reasons,” the band has been steadily introducing fans to its latest chapter. Earlier this year, “Reasons” was identified as part of a forthcoming album from the band. (antimusic.com, music.apple.com)
Alien Ant Farm first broke into the mainstream with songs including “Movies” and its explosive reworking of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal.” More than two decades later, the band remains active while continuing to push its sound forward instead of relying solely on nostalgia.
With “Gaslighter,” Alien Ant Farm proves it still knows how to combine an immediately memorable hook with a subject carrying real emotional weight.
“Gaslighter” is available now on major streaming platforms.
