Aether Realm Release ‘Broken Fist’ Featuring Taj Jewett
Aether Realm have released “Broken Fist,” featuring guest vocalist Taj Jewett, alongside a new music video. The October 27 release is the second single from Season of Bloodshed, due December 11 through Napalm Records.
The North Carolina band are using the track to expand their melodic-death-metal foundation. The label describes “Broken Fist” as a meeting of nu-metal grooves and progressive influences, while the release announcement points to 808 percussion, synthesizers and symphonic elements alongside the guitars.
Jewett’s guest appearance adds another voice to that combination. For listeners drawn to the intersection of melodic metal and modern heavy music, the single offers a focused introduction to the band’s direction on the forthcoming record.
Season of Bloodshed follows 2020’s Redneck Vikings From Hell. Its creation spanned the pandemic, Hurricane Helene and a guitarist change during the recording process, with Chris Jones joining after Donny Burbage’s departure.
The current lineup features Jake Jones on bass and vocals, Heinrich Arnold and Chris Jones on guitars, and Tyler Gresham on drums. The band have described the album as an outlet for accumulated anger, with musical expression providing a way to work through it.
The eight-track album includes “The Blood Is Calling,” “Control,” “Broken Fist,” “Get Fukt,” “The Weight,” “Path of the Wind,” “Achilles’ Heel” and “Terminus Omnium.” Preorders are available on CD and vinyl, with a digital edition also planned.
