Cheap Trick are stepping back from the road in 2027, with confirmed cancellations affecting fans in Florida and North Carolina. Thunder By The Bay organizers say the band’s booking agency has informed them that the group will take a break from performing for an undetermined period.

In an October 26 announcement, Suncoast Charities for Children said Cheap Trick will no longer headline the festival’s Friday, February 19, 2027 bill at the Sarasota Fairgrounds. Organizers are seeking a replacement. Bret Michaels and The Marshall Tucker Band remain on the three-day festival’s lineup.

For Friday ticket holders, the festival offers a choice: transfer tickets to another festival day, or wait for the replacement announcement before deciding whether to request a refund. Check the organizer’s current notice before making travel plans.

Ticketmaster also marks Cheap Trick’s February 13 show at Harrah’s Cherokee Resort Event Center and February 20 performance at Seminole Center Outdoors in Immokalee, Florida, as canceled. The Cherokee notice says refunds require no action and will return to the original payment method after the organizer supplies the funds, usually within 30 days. Transferred-ticket refunds go to the original purchaser.

The cancellation notices do not announce a retirement or a return date. Cheap Trick’s remaining November 2026 concerts are still listed for sale, and The Music Universe reports that a band representative confirmed those shows will proceed. Fans should distinguish the 2027 cancellations from that upcoming November run.

The pause follows touring behind All Washed Up, the band’s 21st studio album. For listeners planning a 2027 trip, the immediate priority is checking the specific venue or festival’s cancellation and refund instructions.
