Skid Row Name Justin Sargent as New Singer, Unveil First Recording and 2027 Shows
Skid Row have named Justin Sargent as their new lead singer, ending an extensive search and setting up the band’s return to the stage in 2027. The October 29 announcement arrives during Skid Row’s 40th anniversary year and comes with a first recording featuring the new frontman.
Sargent makes his recorded introduction on a cover of The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” The official video is available now, with the track scheduled to reach streaming and download services October 30. Nick Raskulinecz produced and recorded the song, reuniting the band with the producer of its 2022 album, The Gang’s All Here. Dale “Rage” Resteghini directed the video.
According to the band’s announcement, Sargent first attracted its attention last year. Months of rehearsals and conversations followed before the musicians committed to the new lineup. Bassist Rachel Bolan and guitarist Dave “The Snake” Sabo both emphasized the combination of vocal ability and personal chemistry in explaining their choice.
The search had included a partnership with Sweetwater inviting singers around the world to submit auditions. In a separate MusicRadar interview published today, Sargent confirmed his appointment and said he has already recorded demo vocals for new material. No release date for a new Skid Row studio album accompanied today’s announcement.
The first announced show with Sargent is March 5, 2027, at The Show at Agua Caliente in Rancho Mirage, California. The initial itinerary also includes spring casino and theater dates, Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach during the festival’s May 6–9 weekend, and Sonic Temple in Columbus on May 14. Additional performances are expected.
For collectors, the band has also announced a hand-signed seven-inch edition of “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” limited to 500 copies worldwide. Fans can use the official release link for availability and the band’s website for concert updates.
